A Very Happy Day!!!!

Wow!! I just can't describe yesterday! It was one of the best days of my life, I guess!! Firstly, I studied after a long time (after 2nd December)....and I studied Maths!! Back home in India people used to say that my first love is Maths!! Well, surely it is! I feel so satisfied and so happy after studying Maths. Its true, the kind of satisfaction you get after studying is inexpressible!! Anyways, don't get scared that today is so special just because I studied Maths... I am not so MAD :) (Paul n Nabeel, My exam was good)

Sometimes someone else's Happiness can mean everything to you, isn't it? Exactly the same happened to me! I saw someone very very special extremely happy yesterday and guess what, I was in a way a part of that person's happiness.... My 4-5 days hard-work was finally successful. I just can't forget the smile :) And I hope that the SMILE is there forever.... (Click-Click, Yesterday was a day to be cherished!!)

Eklavya!!

Today was an extra-ordinary day, just for the simple reason that I woke up at 7:30 am (Ok, I might not sleep for 2-3 days at a stretch and be up at this time, but waking up at this time is certainly no longer my type....though earlier I used to wake up at 4 am).... Yesterday, I slept at around 2 am and today, at 7:30 am I got a message from Rene. He invited me to have breakfast with him... So ya, I got up and had BREAKFAST... Does breakfast still exist, I had a doubt!! But now I think it does. And I felt so happy to be an early bird again... :) Thanks Rene!!

After that we went to Boon Lay to collect his ticket to Penang, Malaysia. And then we went to NTU.... I met Alvin after such a long time!! I was so happy to meet him.... Yesterday only Pam n I were missing him!! Dei also came down to meet us.... We had a good time at NTU. We also took a quick tour of NTU.

Then I went for a movie, 'Eklavya' with Snigdha, Manavi and Komal.. It was a girl's day out!! Well, the movie is just awesome!! Its just so well directed and everybody has acted so well. I suggest everybody to watch it. Its centered around the theme of Righteousness.... Where the story makes you think what righteousness actually is!! Is it the set of rituals, values and principles written in some ancient scriptures or is it something which your soul agrees to carry out?? The movie gets you thinking.... The plot is also very well planned!! It reminded me of 'Omkara' in some respects... However, the story line is completely different in Eklavya!! It also poses a question regarding if 'Eklavya' in Mahabharata did the right thing by cutting his right thumb when his mentor asked him for that.. The concept of 'Dharma' was linked to the story... In all a good movie.. Serious but good!!

Then, Snigdha n I did some crazy things on the road which scared Komal n Manavi!! Komal scolded me even two hours after the incident!! But I am fine with it, I enjoyed what we did!! When we reached NUS, Komal realized that her wallet was missing!! We called Jade... Fortunately, they found it!! Then we had our NUS SASS (South Asian Studies' Society) meeting from 8-10. By the way, I am the Assistant Publicity Head for the society. Tomorrow and Day after, we will organize Cricket Matches in NUS!! So ya...., Tomorrow again I will have to wake up early!! Around 6 am....Thats bad!! :(

Welcome Rene!!

Well, finally after 2-3 days of excitement and waiting I got to meet the much talked about CEEDer- 'Rene'. He is from Germany and he is going to be AIESEC Singapore's IS CEEDer for about 2 months (Short period but I heard that he is very very efficient!!)

Since morning I was very excited to meet him....And my excitement was increased when Imran a.k.a. daddy, invited me to have dinner with Pamela (My Partner in Crime), Julia (An intern in HighQ) and himself. So, I met them at Somerset. And I was so very excited to meet Pam. As Imran says our wavelengths really match and he is never able to catch up with us..... Haha!! We team up together and take his case... Or simply laugh for no reason at all. We had a fillling dinner at Pizza Hut and discussed about Professors over the dinner ;)

And then Imran, Pam n I went to Changi to receive the man himself- 'Rene'. On our way, we planned everything for the much awaited 'Saturday Surprise'(Thats what I would like to call it coz I don't want you to know the details :P). Each and every detail was catered to rather meticulously. And we decided that Alvin (My Buddy) should also be involved in the plan. Jobs were delegated and it seemed just so perfect!! Then we reached Changi.

Well, we had a nice time looking for Rene. Imran coming up with the idea that whoever spots Rene first will be treated by the other two with drinks. Not such a cool idea, coz Pam n I had not seen Rene before :P

Finally, we got to meet him. Then in PGP, we talked outside K Gourmet for around 2 hrs I suppose. Our conversation ranged from AIESEC to AISEC in SIPO, AIESEC in Germany, from Dei' shyness to Vi' naughtiness and what not!! By the way, Vi had also joined us for this chit chat.

Then we all dispersed. And my 'Saturday Surprise' was all spoilt coz 'People' really need to go back home. However, I think I am fine. As long as others are happy, I am happy too :)

Just a thought! Why do people ask for time to express their feelings?? Ok, even I do that but aren't feelings spontaneous. You do not need to rehearse to express your true feelings, do you?
I mean ok, you need to set your priorities and choose the best words to express the innermost feelings but you can always show them implicitly. The explicit expression can come later. Otherwise by the time you decide to express them, the other person might have broken down....

Tarang 2007!!

NUS, NUS, NUS, NUS, NUS!!!!!!

Oh! I can still hear the cheers in my mind!! NUS emerged as the winners of Tarang 2007!! Well, for the benefit of those who do not know what 'Tarang' is- It is an annual Inter-University, Intra Indian community competition..(Confusing but this is the most concise explanation I could give!).. And ya... all the three universities (NUS, NTU n SMU) participate in it!

The NUS band (formally Peroxide but for today's event High Peroxide or Hyperoxide... I am not too sure) was simply amazing.. Not to forget the Indian music band.. They were just so amazing!! I think we could see the effort they had put in! After all, it was worth it!!The dances were also quite enjoyable, and even people who did not understand HINDI enjoyed every bit of it!! Which is an achievement in itself :)

However, I think that the most amazing thing about Tarang was that I went out with my group after such a long time (Though Siddharth Bhaiya was missing).. But it was simply amazing to be with them.. Most of the people I like were with me!! A very very special thanks to Dei for taking out time to come down!! You really are the BEST MENTOR in the world!! :D

In all, it had been a long but a very enjoyable day.... And I enjoyed the 'Sandal Fight' too!!

Also, today is the first day of Chinese New Year!!! Happy CNY to all!!
Well, just a thought- during the CNY, everything in Singapore is closed, even G Mart!! This is diametrically opposite to what happens in India... Remember, during Deepavali the shops open 24X7 for about a week...
The idea of closing down everything during CNY is that people spend time with their families, which is actually the real joy in life!! I think only people like me who are so far away from their families would understand its significance!! Oh, suddenly I am feeling so home-sick, so I shall stop writing the blog and have a good sleep.... SLEEP after all is the best Nurse!! And you can always dream of being in your home!! I really don't know when I will be in my HOME the next time!! Ooooohhhhh...suddenly I am feeling so weak, so vulnerable, so "I don't know what"!!!

Good Night!!!

Mid Sem Break is HERE!!!!!

Woo Hoo....the much awaited mid sem break is finally here!!!!

Finally, after 2 days of no sleep, I slept....though only for 9 hours!!! That is not enough for 3 days! But its ok, coz when I woke up today I had a feeling of satisfaction.... Though I have a lot to catch up and do during this break, I don't have any pressing deadline.....except for the sub systems research assigned by BOSS!!!

Anyways, you shoud listen to the plans we have made for the break...it seems that we have misunderstood it to be a year-long holiday!!! Nevertheless, every one is happy!!! Today, we had an awesome lunch... Nothing different!!! The same menu as ever but we brought it to our loyal 'adda'-R2 lounge and cracked a series of 'gandas'. By gandas I mean lame jokes!! It was so much fun.... and our lunch stretched to about an hour (this is quite normal if we are in high spirits :) )

The best came when I casually said something related to APXLDS (oops, sorry Snigdha, I mean Asia Pacific Exchange and Leadership Development Seminar)! Well, this is the way my friends normally torture me- by making me say the full forms of all the AIESEC abbreviations.... an AIESECer would understand the torture I go through.... :P

Anyways, going back to the discussion, Snigdha and Komal suddenly came up with the brilliant idea that when the juniors will come in July to NUS, they will dare them to learn the AIESEC acronyms and then speak them in front of us..... And those who are unable to do so will be scolded by MANAVI!!!!! Oops.....I have already started to pity the juniors!

By the way, I also updated my music knowledge and I heard a really beautiful song- Rozana (which means every day) from the movie Nishabd!!! The lyrics are really touching and Amitabh Bacchan has sung it really beautifully!!! Thanks Siddharth Bhaiya for sending me the song!!!

Now, I shall start trying to study...mid term tests from 26th....

Well, just a question!!! Why do Supervisors ask us to make sooo maaannnnyyyy changes and keep on stressing us??

Don't Quit!!!!

Well, finally I have been dragged into the world of blogging..... So, ya, you guys can welcome me into this world...

I was just thinking what shall I write...Normal daily stuff can come later...today is special!!! Its my first post on the BLOG!!!
So, I thought to share with you one of my favourite poems...which is at times my inspiration!!!
Many of you might have heard it or read it, and those who have not...enjoy!!!

DON'T QUIT!!!!
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit-
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a fellow turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with another blow.
Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the strugglerhas given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup;
And he learned too late, when the night came down
How close he was to the golden crown.
Success is failure tuned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar,
So stick to the lightwhen you're hardest hit-
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.
Don't quit, but turn to GOD!!!!
